In Control
We are at the forefront of the development of new models of service delivery that will give the people we support more control in line with the introduction of individualised budgets and self directed support.
We have been a pilot organisation working with In Control on new ways of working that are being developed with the local authorities that have signed up for “total transformation”. The systems that are being developed will eventually be rolled out across all local authorities.
We are already supporting a number of people who have individualised budgets including two people with complex needs who are being supported in their own tenancies, one person who has her own day service and brothers who are living together and have some family members still providing support to them. We are also working with a number of people on small packages of support – enabling them to access community activities, college etc.
Kim Foo, CEO, is also a member of group of select voluntary sector providers developing national policies for “In Control” within Learning Disability services.
