Happy 1st birthday to Lincolnshire Day Activities

Happy 1st birthday to Lincolnshire Day Activities

Lincolnshire Day Activities recently celebrated their 1st birthday. The new service has enjoyed a very successful first year providing a range of activities and even an outing for its attendees. The Day Activities are held at Grantham Leisure Centre where the attendees can participate in a variety of different disability sports including hockey, tennis, basketball and even table cricket, to name but a few. For those who are feeling a little less energetic, there is a social room which offers arts and crafts, bingo plus other games.

A team from the club is currently in the process of competing in a Table Cricket League. If they reach the final they will have the pleasure of competing at the historic Nottingham Trent Bridge Cricket Club. We wish them luck and hope that they get to compete at the famous test match ground.

The club is not always confined to base; the attendees have also enjoyed a day trip and more are planned. They went on the Nottingham Princess for a three and a half hour cruise with lunch included down the River Trent. There is also a trip to the pantomime planned for December – oh yes there is!

Grantham Rotary Club has been very generous in the support it has provided for Lincolnshire Day Activities. It part funded the river cruise and also has contributed towards the panto visit. It was, therefore, fitting that members of Grantham Rotary Club joined in the birthday celebrations. The Celebrations Active Care Club enjoyed a lovely afternoon of cream teas and dancing as shown in the pictures above.

The club has gone from strength to strength and new people are always coming along. We wish them a happy birthday and hope that their success continues in the future.
