Millbank staff do the ice bucket challenge

The staff at Millbank have risen brilliantly to the ice bucket challenge issued by Head Office. The challenge originated in the US and aims to raise awareness and money for research into Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (known as motor neurone disease in the UK). Most of those who have undertaken the challenge have done so singly but staff at Millbank did things in style and underwent a mass soaking. A dozen staff, all wearing their most attractive pyjamas, sat in the garden whilst residents happily doused them in icy cold water in the name of charity. Everyone had a great time and the communal soaking raised funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the residents fund. The challenge has raised £6.8 m for the MNDA and £4.5m for the MacMillan Charity. The good sports of Millbank are also supporting MacMillan, though they do not have to get wet this time; they are hosting a MacMillan coffee morning on 26th September to raise funds for the cancer charity. Well done for being such good sports and good luck for future efforts!
