Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support

Our experience

We support people with learning disabilities who exhibit behaviours described as challenging. Our services support individuals to develop the confidence and skills they need to live in their own homes. We understand that it is important for people to have choice and control over the support they need in order to achieve their hopes and dreams.

At the core of what we do is the person we support so we plan everything around each individual person and their needs.

How can we help people who exhibit behaviour that is described as challenging?

  •  We support people to live the life they chose by using positive behaviour support.
  • We work with individuals to discover what they are trying to say with their behaviour and help them to find new ways to communicate.
  • We can help to find accommodation that meets the needs of each individual.
  • We can support people to develop new skills in order to be more independent.
  • We can support people engage with their community and enjoy all it has to offer.

What does the service deliver?

  • We ensure that the people we support are safe and happy.
  • We provide person centred support, working in partnership with individuals, their families and their healthcare professionals.
  • We work with individuals and their families to select their own support staff.
  • We work to resolve and communication issues which may be behind the challenging behaviour.
  • We provide skilled and experienced support teams who undertake specialist training in positive behaviour support, designed around the person being supported.

Who is the service for?

We can support any individual over 18 (or anyone who is approaching this age and would like us to start planning their future support) who has been assessed as requiring care.

What is next?

  • We will meet with you to find out what your needs are.
  • We work together in developing a support plan. This enables us to develop a person centred job description which ensures we find the right support staff.
  • We will manage your staff for as long as you would like us to.
  • Please feel free to contact your local Heritage Care Domiciliary Branch (see menu of County locations on the left) or complete our online contact form
